A night at the Proms!

Suffice to say this was a career highlight. Walton’s magnificent (and daunting) cello concerto, a packed Royal Albert Hall, the Sinfonia of London and the extraordinary John Wilson.

Five star reviews in the Guardian and the Times; the former wrote: ‘Jonathan Aasgaard was the generous-toned soloist, articulate and technically immaculate, yet refreshingly undemonstrative’ and the latter:
‘Aasgaard played it without exaggeration or histrionics, but with revelatory subtlety and wonderful technique.’
No Walton’s in the diary for the upcoming season, maybe a good thing, I’ll let it rest and brew for a while.
