Over the years I’ve recorded hundreds of discs—mostly orchestral, of course—and worked with some of the best classical music producers in the business. So when my Pixels friends Sophie Rosa and Ian Buckle asked if I could produce their recital disc featuring Schumann’s Third Sonata and Schoenberg’s Phantasy, the answer was an easy yes.
The recording sessions were absolutely inspirational. I witnessed playing that simply oozed class and complete commitment to the music. At the end I was able to recommend takes for a rough first edit, and they took it from there.
